  • WHO WE ARE......

    Peculiar Grace Youth Empowerment Initiative is a Not-for-Profit and Non Governmental organization established out of the passion to reach out to the society especially the less-priviledged and vulnerable youths within the community. It is a registered organisation with the Corporate Afffairs Commision in Nigeria with a registration number CAC/IT/No 72574 since 26th September 2014.

    We’re highly dynamic and enthusiastic in our approach to changing our world and creating positive social impact within our local community with a global mindset. Our visions incorporate relevant United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) into our organization's deliverables .

    We work with parents, teachers, family, partners, community, ministries, international organizations, other nonprofits, sponsors, schools as well as youth organizations through various methods and tools to unlock opportunities for the citizens. We partner with individuals to realize their personal dreams and aspirations via admission and scholarships abroad, visa assistance and various activities. We carry out projects, teaching, engagement, empowerment, counseling for educational, career & life skills, capacity building, as well as youth mentoring and so on.

  • Register for the Workshop Seminar & Scholarship Test for Fresh Secondary School Graduates. Next sessions will be holding on Saturday December 11th and 18th 2021. Kindly read the scholarship application details to ensure you qualify.

    Participants at this workshop will gain necessary skills for a successful tertiary education and a successful future life experience. They will also have an opportunity to write a test for a renewable scholarship award worth N100,000 per session to support their tertiary education.

  • Registration Guidelines for the 2021/2022 Scholarship

    Here is another opportunity to receive the PGYEI renewable scholarship for 2021/2022. If you are a brilliant, articulate, motivated and visionary SS3 student or you just recently completed secondary school, and you're between the ages of 16-19 years, then the sum of N100,000.00 per session could be yours.
    Do you want to be among the future leaders of Africa with a global mindset? Are you a parent and willing to have your child benefit from this free but competitive program? If your answer(s) to any/all these questions is/are "YES," then you can take advantage of our scholarship program.
    Also, please feel free to share or forward to anyone that may benefit or any parent that may have children who can take advantage of this project.

     

    Our competitive but highly rewarding scholarship program is aimed at developing ethical and responsible future leaders.
    The First Section of the selection process requires every prospective applicant for the scholarship program to submit the following:
    Part A: Personal Perspectives
    1) What excites you most about African leadership and how can it be improved? (150words minimum)
    2) Describe an activity or event in which you participated that is most meaningful or important to you. Explain why it is important or significant to you. What have you learned about yourself by taking part in this activity? (300 words maximum and 100words minimum)
    Part B: Demonstrated Leadership Abilities
    In this section, we would like you to describe a time when you identified a need in your community (such as your family, school, village, or town) and took action.
    1) What need did you identify? (Maximum 100words)
    2) How did you address this need (Maximum 250words)
    3) What difficulties did you encounter? (Maximum 150words)
    4) What were the outcomes? (Maximum 200words)
    Part C: Extracurricular/Volunteer Services
    Please list the most important activities (in order of importance to you) that you have participated in for the past 3years
    (a) School or Community Service e.g. Student government
    (b) Employment/Entrepreneurial Enterprises
    (c) Competitions/Conferences/ Special Programs
    (d) Arts/Musicals
    (e) Athletics

  • GET EMPOWERED AND LEARN NEW SKILLS AS PGYEI LAUNCHES SKILLS ENHANCEMENT TRAINING AND INTERNSHIP PROGRAM (SETIP)

     

     

    SETIP, a project aimed at empowering youth through vocational training, internships, mentoring and skills acquisition. The project targets young secondary school certificate holders, undergraduates, postgraduates, Youth Corp members (NYSC), artisans and the youth generally.

    Peculiar Grace Youth Empowerment Initiative (PGYEI) is partnering with other reputable service providers and organizations to provide vocational skills, training and internship opportunities for young adults and students. This partnership will provide requisite knowledge, start-up capital, mentoring and other supports necessary for each beneficiary to become empowered, viable and independent as we play our role in ensuring a robust 21st century education for sustainable development and economic empowerment.

    Akindele, Samuel Afolabi

    One of our six 2019 Scholarship Winners

    Akindele Samuel Afolabi, from Oyo State, is a current student of Statistics at the University of Ilorin. He is born into the family of Mr. and Mrs. Akindele and he is the second son. As a lover of

    computer related tasks, Samuel’s ambition is to become a successful programmer. He finished his secondary school from

    Imperial International College where he was the Senior Prefect Boy of the 2018/2019 set. Due

    to his love for debating, he has won several debate contests for

    his school team.

    Samuel also loves speaking which made him to participate

    in a speaking contest organized by his church (Teens’ Church

    Living Faith Church, Orita Basorun, Ibadan) and he came third.

    During his leisure time, he listens to music or reads book. He is a nice, easy going and conversable fellow

    .

    Dr. Irewale Adewale Tolulope

    CEO/Lead Project Manager

    A dynamic Natural & Social Scientist, Strategist, Operations Researcher, Team Player and Youth Counselor. With experience working in a multi-disciplinary and complex upstream Oil and Gas industry with responsibilities including ensuring safety, operability and reliability of company assets - human and material - to accomplish strategic business goals in an Eco-friendly manner. He is passionate about giving back to the society through his experience in Development Research for Sustainable Development, Educational, Life & Career Counseling, Youth Mentoring, Social and Community Oriented projects, Communications and Advocacy etc.

    Nwafor Chidiogo Eurel

    Youth Corps Member

    She is an Activist, Anchor, and panelist. Prior to her time with PGYEI, Eurel was among the few women who championed the CNN hashtag #Metoo movement in Nigeria, in 2017.

    She was also a panel member at the social media week Lagos 2018, That pioneered the #Nomore movement, which soon picked momentum, calling out to stop gender violence against women in Nigeria. She has been involved in other youth initiatives and demonstrations over the years as well.

    A diploma in Mass communication from Nnamdi Azikiwe university.

    Elisha Kehinde Williams

    Strategy Consultant

    With over 5 years experience in entrepreneurial and leadership tutelage of recipients in skills acquisition training and workshops, Agbelese Elisha who is the Founder/ CEO of Kgbelex Enterprise has engaged hundreds of youths who were once incapacitated and helped them fulfill their purpose. He is the founder of African Youth Development and Leadership, an NGO that focuses on youth development, entrepreneurial mentorship, educational innovation and leadership skills acquisition, geared towards high productivity in respective communities.

    He had his BSc in Communication and Language Arts and MSc in Peace and Conflict Studies both from the University of Ibadan.

    Elisha has volunteered in various mission on the platform of NGOs across Africa, ranging from African Youths Action Network Nigeria (Lead volunteer), Help for Victims of Domestic Abuse Foundation (Lead, Records), World Largest Lesson (SDG Activator and solicitor), Misk Global (Volunteer) and Pepnet (Peace Ambassador).

    Abimbola Samuel Olaniyi

    Project Operations/IT Administrator

    A graduate of Bachelor of Education in Computer Science and currently working fulltime with PGYEI as the Administrative/IT Officer. He is passionate and committed to helping fellow youths achieve their goals and attain career success in their endeavours.

    Alex Segun Fayomi

    Consultant Research Associate

    A behavioral scientist, strategist, and researcher with experience in application of multiple field-based research approaches to solving real socioeconomic problems in education, healthcare, governance, business and community development. My experience in the last 5 years had given me opportunity to manage diverse teams in implementing large scale research in Nigeria and Kenya on projects to improve people’s livelihood.

    His role is to provide academics and researchers with technical and advisory support in contextualizing, designs and implementing research in Nigeria and in Africa.

    His academic background includes MSc. in Research and Public Policy (Unilag), B.Sc. in Pure and Applied Psychology (Adekunle Ajasin University) and a Diploma in Computer Studies.

    Sokunbi Bukola Omolade

    Youth Corps Member

    Bukky is a graduate of Bachelor of Agriculture in Agricultural Extension and Rural Development from the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta. She is also skilled in Fashion designing, shoe making, trading, etc.

    She aims to be make positive impact in people and also giving back to the society through her enterprenurial skills enhancement for the youth.
